Cardinals vs. Dodgers in divisional series

Even with their weak finish, I'm picking St. Louis to win it all this year. Lots of great hitting and defense, but I'm a little wary of their starting pitching. All in all, I like their chances.

Here's the Cardinals' first round schedule:

Tuesday, Oct. 5, 12:09 p.m.
Los Angeles at St. Louis

Thursday, Oct. 7, 7:19 p.m.
Los Angeles at St. Louis

Saturday, Oct. 9, TBA
St. Louis at Los Angeles

Sunday, Oct. 10, TBA (if necessary)
St. Louis at Los Angeles

Monday, Oct. 11, TBA (if necessary)
Los Angeles at St. Louis

The entire first round schedule is on my other Web site.

Mr. 3000: not bad, not great

Since leaving News Channel 3, I've got a lot of free time on my hands. Since I love movies and I love baseball, I decided to see Mr. 3000 at the Paridisio (behind Houston's Restaurant) yesterday. It's a really nice theater, but the parking can be a little tricky. I'd tell you the best place to park, but I don't want to ruin it for those of us who've figured it out.

The movie was OK, sometimes funny, but a little unrealistic. Normally, that wouldn't make a difference to me, but when it comes to baseball, I'm a stickler. If you're looking for a funny baseball movie, you can't beat Major League. Of course the best baseball movie is The Natural. That Robert Redford is a handsome man.
